The step setup.
The joints at the trees are designed to slide so that the tree can sway in the wind. To protect the bark, we put up flashing where the jousts came in contact. The design works beautifully- you can watch the trees sway inside the house. In is kinda creepy to watch- but cool.
The hanging joust where the stairs come up. We had originally planned to put an elevator though this hole, but too many technical problems arose. Maybe next tree house!
